It is springtime and this week we can certainly feel it in the winds. The Daffodils, and red & purple Tulips in my flower garden are in full bloom. All the planning and hard work that I did in fall has finally paid off.
Planning helps big-time. In last week’s email, I talked about my vision, objective and goals for our district. It is available at http://SandyEast.com/vision-email.html. This week I’ll delve into some of the details of my plan.
Streamlining Communication:
To achieve my goals, my first priority will be to streamline the district communication. We will get rid of redundancy and repetition in communication. District will send weekly emails to District council with all the relevant information to members. A sample example of what this email may look like is available at http://SandyEast.com/div-i-communication.html .Here are a couple of examples about the content of these weekly emails:
We will work on personalizing this email for club presidents & VPEs with their club, area and division specific information beside general district-wide communications. These will be informational emails only. I’ll continue to encourage district officers to keep sending encouragements and motivational emails from time to time.
Making Information available at the finger-tips via Dashboard:
I also talked about a dashboard for our Area and Division Governors. This will have most of the information relevant to area/division level keeping them up-to-date with their area/division. This will help our district officers’ precious time to be spent in their true leadership with their clubs & members. Area & Division contests are overwhelming:
For all of our area and division governors, the area & division contests take a lot of time & effort. Organizing a contest will take some effort but district will help reduce the stress by providing the pertinent information about possible volunteers for the contest. We will plan for all the contests next year in July itself. See how the dashboard (contest tab) may help you find the volunteers for your contests.I have also started building my team of passionate Toastmasters who are willing to serve you in an effective, efficient manner to help you achieve your goals in Toastmasters. I believe your success is key to our success and we will not leave any stone unturned to give you all the opportunities to be successful.
