Streamlining Communication:
My first priority will be to streamline the district communication. We will get rid of redundancy and repetition in communication. District will send weekly emails to District council with all the relevant information to members. A sample example of what this email may look like is available at http://SandyEast.com/div-i-communication.html .Here are a couple of examples about the content of these weekly emails:
We will work on personalizing this email for club presidents & VPEs with their club, area and division specific information beside general district-wide communications. These will be informational emails only. I’ll continue to encourage district officers to keep sending encouragements and motivational emails from time to time.
Making Information available at the finger-tips via Dashboard:
Working with my information officer, we will create a dashboard for our Area and Division Governors. This will have most of the information relevant to area/division level keeping them up-to-date with their area/division. This will help our district officers’ precious time to be spent in their true leadership with their clubs & members. Targeted effort
I'll work on district providing our district officers the right/targeted information for not only making their work easier but also for an effective leadership. Here are a few examples:- For TLI training, we can empower district officer to persuade/focus on the officers who register late or do not register, instead of sending generic emails about TLI registration.
- We can announce the make-up training way in advance to only those officers who can not attend TLI and not dilute the TLI event.
- For Area & Divsion contests, beside announcing it to members to participate, we can provide list of possible judges for area & division governors to call.
Feedback Mechanism
Currently we rely on our district officers to give us feedback. I'll work on getting feedback directly from members and will persuade the district officers to work on those.
